Tawny Reynolds

Though artistic from a young age, Tawny Reynolds had her sights set on a career in science, not art. But science and art are not mutually exclusive - she developed skills in scientific illustration and sculpting, building museum displays and painting. And sometimes plans change... Tawny founded Sundrop Jewelry in 2005, showcasing her love for vibrant, glowing colors, natural forms, and care for the environment. Tawny continues to hand craft each elegant teardrop. Focusing California sunshine with the help of a giant fresnel lens (a type of magnifying glass) to melt recycled bottles and stained glass, she creates elegant adornment for women who love color and the Earth.

What inspired you to make this project?
I am inspired by colors, and I love the way translucent glass glows in the light.  A new bottle color, a sheet of glass or millefiori rods in the glass shop - I want to try them all!  And I am always excited when I find a bottle in a new color!
